Dr. Jaclyn Normandie

Founder, CEO SoundLab Doctoral Conductor

Twenty five years in front of orchestras, and twenty five years listening to what a room is doing before anyone in it can name the problem. That is the ear I now bring to executives and client facing teams.

The Story Behind the Method

Everything I have studied has turned out to be the same study. On a podium, the work was to carry a thousand people through a piece of music without saying a word, and to make a quiet moment hold. On a competition floor in karate, it was to stand across from someone and look like I could take them apart. On a mat, teaching yoga and meditation, it was to bring a room full of nervous systems down into something settled. Three different rooms, and one question underneath all of them. How is presence projected, and how is it received?

That question is the whole of my work now. Conducting taught me to hear what most people miss: whether someone is breathing, whether a body is guarded, whether the sound is coming from a settled place or a frightened one. You cannot hide a nervous system from an ear that has listened to ten thousand of them.

Presence is not performance.
It is resonance.

Most leaders believe they are showing up confidently. Yet the way they think they are perceived and the way others experience them rarely align. That invisible mismatch weakens influence, and most leaders never see it.

The Gap Between Intent & Impact

People hear your words, but they don't feel your intention. Connection slips. Opportunities fade without explanation. Not because you lack skill or expertise, but because your presence is not reaching people the way you believe it is.

Presence is the full experience people have of you: your voice, your body language, your expression, your energy, your environment, the intention they feel before you speak.

It is not performance. It is resonance. And it can be trained, calibrated, and owned.

Regulation Is the Foundation

Before a word is spoken, the nervous system has already decided how it will sound. Through somatic work, breath, and sound, we settle the body first, so your voice carries calm authority instead of effort.

The Work We Do Together

At CEO SoundLab, I mentor leaders in the full expression of their presence: what people see, what they hear, and the pattern underneath both.

01
The Surface
What they see. How you come across on camera and in the room in the first five seconds, before you have said anything. Framing, lighting, posture and expression.
02
The Instrument
What they hear. The physical technique that keeps a voice steady instead of thin when the stakes rise. Breath, tone, pace and projection.
03
The Root
Why it happens. This is the layer most training never reaches. The pattern that fires under pressure, where it was learned, and what it takes to stop it.
How we know it worked
We measure it.
Then we measure it again.

You record where you are before you know what is being assessed. We work the pattern. Then you record again and hear the two side by side. Nobody has to take my word for anything.
