Andrew Byrne is the creator of The Singing Athlete™, a groundbreaking book and training method that integrates neuroscience, athletic training, and vocal performance.
His approach has reached singers across the globe, with students appearing in over 90 Broadway productions and more than 150 teachers certified in his system through his international Singing Athlete™ program. He maintains studios in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles, and also teaches a worldwide roster of singers online.In 2025, Andrew was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Mama, I’m a Big Girl Now, created with Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy, Tony nominee Kerry Butler, and Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur, serving as co-creator, arranger/lyricist, and conductor. Twice honored as New York City’s Favorite Vocal Coach by the BackstageReaders’ Choice Awards, he brings a brain-based, performance-driven approach to singers of all styles.
His international teaching has included tours in Australia, residencies in Canada, and masterclasses across Europe and Asia. The U.S. State Department named him the first Arts Envoy to Belarus, where he directed the inaugural Russian-language production of Next to Normal.
In North America, he has also served as guest faculty for the University of Michigan’s celebrated musical theatre department.Alongside his teaching, Andrew is a songwriter whose work has been featured in films and across digital platforms, garnering millions of views.
