Accessibility

Modern Conducting Academy wants every conductor and music educator to be able to use our classes and our website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, captions, and other assistive technology. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Last reviewed: October 16, 2026. This statement comes from our own review. It is not the result of an outside audit.

What is in place

  • English captions on every class video, with French and Spanish captions being added.
  • Text descriptions (alt text) on images throughout the member area and on the main public pages.
  • A visible outline that shows where you are when you move through links, buttons, and form fields with the keyboard.
  • Text and button colors checked for contrast, and dashboard carousels that no longer move on their own.
  • A short countdown with a Cancel link when one lesson ends and the next begins.

Known gaps

  • Audio description. Conducting is visual, and we do not yet offer audio description for class video. For this requirement we meet Level A, not Level AA. We are not able to give a date.
  • Captions are complete in English. We are adding French and Spanish captions one class at a time, and they are not yet on every class.
  • Our website platform, Kajabi, and our video player, Wistia, control parts of the experience, including some video player controls.
